Religion in early Meiji Japan
brief
These are reference pages for my research and not so much a page with all relevant information about Meiji Japan or religion in that era.
I started this way back when wiki(pedia)-like pages were not yet common, and kept it as a general html file on my computer (it started as a WordPerfect 5.0 document!). Only recently -- me being stubborn -- I discovered the benefits of on-line storage/editing over local/manual/troublesome html pages, and decided to put it all up here.
As stated above, this is my research so not all pages are publicly available, and only having started recently to migrate the data to Springnote, empty or to-be-edited links will be ample.
Comments are appreciated, and, when relevant, will be inserted.

also
- Many terms found here have no 'official' translation into English, are not found in dictionaries or differ considerably from publication to publication. Translations I like or prefer are in bold, common translations are in normal text and those I don't really like are between single quotes.
- Dates are calculated with TMJ-calendar or NengoCalc (or here) and are rendered year.month.day.
- Japanese names are in the Japanese order (Family Given). Sometimes in all-caps: this means the reading is not known to me, not that it is the family name.
Other -- premature -- projects:
- My diigo page
- My time lines: dipity and timeglider (not sure yet which is better; dipity often fails with pop-ups, links and importance settings; timeglider has no unicode/Japanese [yet] and no google maps)
